PRIEST RIVER PUBLIC WORKS- employees are responsible for the operation and maintenance of the street, water, and wastewater divisions and all city owned buildings.
Administration- is responsible for engineering review and planning of Public Works projects and operations and maintenance scheduling of daily operations. Administration also assists the City Council by providing information necessary for decisions affecting all of the Public Works Division and its employees. The Public Works Director interacts with the public issues regarding city infrastructure.
Street Division-is in charge of maintaining the surface transportation system including the storm water system. The division maintains approximately 13 miles of roadway.
Water Treatment and Distribution-is comprised of water treatment operations and distribution and storage operations. The City operates a 2 million-gallon per day (mgd) surface water treatment facility, which provides an average 0.5-mgd of treated potable water. The treated water is pumped to a 1 million-gallon storage reservoir, which serves approximately 800 services through the distribution system.
Wastewater Treatment and Collection-Collects sanitary wastewater from approximately 650 customers and delivers it to the wastewater treatment facility located on the bank of the Pend Oreille River. The wastewater is treated to stringent EPA standards and is the secondary treatment facility before being discharged into the Pend Oreille River. Recent upgrades have increased our treatment flow limits from 0.25 mgd to 0.5 mgd.
Building Division-the City has an in house Building Department with staff working out of the City Clerk’s Office.

Information and permit packages are available during regular office hours from 8:00-5:00 p.m. daily. Building and mechanical inspection services are available on Tuesday and Thursday, 8:00 a.m.-12:00p.m. or by appointment.
